• About

Buying a home is an exciting time in life! Fuelled with the possibilities of creating your own dream and realizing your own unique living experience, it can at times be difficult to focus on the hard realities of a home's current condition. All purchasers need to realize that every house has issues, concerns or deficiencies, even newly constructed ones. So aside from decorating or updating issues, most prospective home owners want to know about the potential of significant issues that may involve more funding or time than they're prepared to invest in beyond the intial excitement of purchasing a new home. Beyond structural  concerns, other issues such as, where is the home located (city, street), what's the elevation, site grading and vegetation, are there retaining walls etc, all could potentially have a role in determining the health and longevity of your investment and ultimately, your happiness in purchasing a home.

Having been born and raised in the Chatham-Kent area, Jim Sanson of Harbour Inspection Services is uniquely qualified and familiar with geographical and infrastructure issues that may impact the performance of your home over time. Few people purchase a home with the intention of keeping it as it is. Many have plans for improvements, upgrades, additions, pools, she caves, man caves and so on. With Harbour Inspections Services, you can be comfortable about whether a home's current electrical system can support one or two EV chargers or a hot tub. We can also talk about the home's ability to support improvements like a standby generator, pool heater, commercial cooking equipment and we can have an overall and very candid discussion about plumbing issues such as water supply, waste water, drainage and septic system issues. Rural and lakeside properties present their own unique challenges and concerns .... septic systems, high and sustained winds & rain, frequent power interruptions. These are all issues that may potentially impact your investment and ultimately the enjoyment and comfort of your new home. When chosing a home inspector, you need to choose one that catches all of the details and gets the big picture .... Harbour Inspection Services ..... your go-to source for inspection needs!
